Eligibility Criteria to Receive Services Through the Community Mental Health Center

1. Adult with serious mental Illness that creates a major disruption in work, life, relationships, or community
2. Children with serious mental illness that have significant and persistent life disruptions (school, home, neighborhood) Persistent = 6 moths or longer

Do you accept court referrals?

1. Yes, from Mental Health Court or for any person that meets eligibility criteria
2. No, if the referral does not meet the above conditions. MHS is unaware of any agency in the Valley that accepts these referrals or performs court-ordered assessments.

What kinds of behavioral health services can you provide?

Any of the services listed below will be provided to those who meet the eligibility criteria. See the Behavioral Health page for more information regarding these services.

1. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation referred assessments
2. Referral from a physician regarding psychotropic medications
3. Substance abuse counseling

How do I see if I’m eligible for behavioral health services?

Call (907) 376-2411 and leave your name and a number to reach you. Someone will call you back within 48 hours to determine if you are eligible for services.

What services does the Community Health Center provide?

MHS Community Health Center provides a variety of family medicine services. Check out the Family Medicine page for more details.

Our providers do not provide pain management services or STD screenings.

What insurance/benefits do you accept?

We accept: Medicare, Medicaid, Premera, Tricare, most other third-party insurances

We do not accept:
Medicare Advantage plans

What about people who do not have any insurance?

As a Federally Qualified Health Center and a Community Mental Health Center, MSHS can offer a sliding discount based on household size and income. See our Insured or Uninsured page or contact our Client Account Representative for more details.

Is the medical clinic a “free clinic”?

No, we have a sliding discount on fees available. However, payment is expected at time of service.
Appointments are also required to see a primary care provider. MHS is not a urgent care or walk-in clinic. A same day appointment may be available. Call us at 907-376-2411
